enlargements/blowups

This could well be enlargements or blowups, most likely of photographs.

Does that fit into your context?

agree liz askew : This is what they call them in Boots in Portsmouth, UK, i.e. "enlargements". Never come across "gigantography" in my linguistic travels.

Some further explanation is needed:

'Gigantography' is a specific word, used in the USA, as you have already perceived. :) However, in the UK (I am native British) we would probably use the expression 'BLOWING UP' of images, although that word doesn't have a direct counterpart that I know of.

In the UK the word 'HOARDING' is used to describe the process of displaying outdoor advertising.
In the USA they call this 'BILLBOARDING'

Hope that helps.

Just 'gigantography' as a literal translation.
