Spanish term or phrase: SOBREIMPRESIÓN
SPAIN. Three headings for a video script. Imagen, Sobreimpresion, Sonido. Other than subtitles, I can't think of how to translate this. "Overprint" apparently refers to postage stamps.

Explanation:
I translate scripts for dubbing into Spanish. That's what I translate as "sobreimpresión (en pantalla)". It can be either an image, some words, or both. Examples: Name and title of the speaker, a map with some locations...

'superimposed' or 'after effects'

Explanation:
Superimposed is the direct translation but if the script is breaking down to image, sound and superimpositions such as titles, CGI, dissolves, fades, subtitles, etc, then after effects is more likely the proper term.

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  Kathryn Litherland: Unless the translator is able to determine if something more specific (titles, e.g.) is being indicated, I think superimposion is a safe, general term that is most appropriate for the context.

Definition of BLEED THROUGH: Transformation from a scene downstage of a gauze to another scene upstage, by slowly crossfading lighting from downstage to upstage.
