The words headset and headphone are used throughout the whole document. The device is a headset (headphones+mic) with a detachable mic. The mic that can be disconnected so the headset can be used as regular headphones.

I thought of using 'auriculares/audífonos' respectively but they're basically synonyms. I've also seen the word 'casco' for headset but I don't think it's very common, at least in Peru, people wouldn't understand. I have to use a 'neutral' Spanish.

I have found micrófono-audifóno, audífono-micrófono, micrófono con audífono y audífonos con micrófono. I think any of these terms could work for you because they distinguish between the headset, that includes both, and just the headphones--los audífonos. I also think they fit in well since you need "neutral" Spanish. I think most Spanish speakers could figure out what was meant even if they weren't already familiar with the terms. They will also make it easy to explain that the microphone detaches etc., as you have mentioned. ¡Suerte!
