Hello CorbettAM ,
I'm interested in speaking with you about a business
Project. To further explore the possibility I would like you

to contact me via my email address
([email protected]) to give a brief description of
my field of project idea.

Mr. Deuk Young Choi

The IP address, which I traced using the same website used by one of the other posters here (thanks for that!), is from the Ivory Coast but the profile is supposed to be of a Cambodian person (the french email domain address is another thing but can be used by anyone).

Other people might have received this message. Clearly, I've no intention of responding (hope they're reading this, though not that it will deter them from bothering others).

It's fake. We know that already. It may be credited to your account if you try, and then debited a couple of weeks later when your bank realises it hasn't cleared.

If you return any money to anyone, you'll lose it.

This is an old classic.

The best thing to do is to ignore the whole thing and not reply to that person.

And there's worse still... Dec 4, 2017

There is absolutely no doubt it is a scam; this is a variant on the classic "overpayment" scam.

It is better to avoid any contact with these people, as even if you don't actually fall for their scam, the mere fact of replying validates your e-mail address, which then will be circulated on lists of "qualified" e-mail addresses to other scammers!

And there's worse... if you attempt to cash this cheque, you could find yourself in trouble with the law for "attempted fraud using a fake cheque" — and the onus would be on YOU to prove you were doing so in good faith, which is not always the easiest thing to prove!
