I would appreciate a little help from Trados veterans, if possible.
Here is the story, rather simple: I received ttx files from an agency for proofreading and the related TM. However, when I try to open the ttx, some of them open, some not. Those which don't open makes Tageditor disappear from screen in the process.
Any idea where this might come from? I was thinking of files being corrupted, or something, but I'm lost at this point. I already contacted the agency to ask them to recr... See more I would appreciate a little help from Trados veterans, if possible.

The Trados is Freelance 2007 on WinXP. Trados was just installed (bought yesterday).

My Trados 2007 software frequently disappeared out of the screen but it is still running. I could check with Task Manager [ctrl+alt+del key combination]. I cannot explain but Task Manager always recovers the application to me.

If the program closes then something could be wrong with the files. You could try with the original files (non .ttx) and the .ini file they used, in order to recreate the .ttx file. Do you have any idea what the original files are? You can check the file name and extension, it can give clues with respect to that.

...and it seems the agency is checking the files, too. I just wanted to be sure there's nothing wrong on my end (some glitch I'm not aware of).

I am having the same problem with Tag editor (Trados 2007) suddenly closing after spending several minutes trying to open a Word document.
When I checked Task Manager, Tag Editor was completely closed, although the Workbench was still active.
