Esther is certified by California State Courts and the Federal Courts as a Spanish/English interpreter and translator.
She attended the interpreting/translating program at Cal-State University in L.A., Conference interpreting courses at Southern California School of Interpretation.
She has worked on high profile cases and has traveled abroad as part of the trial preparations for the defense team.
Living in Los Angeles has given her the opportunity to do several simulcast interpretations, including an ongoing local politics program televised weekly (copy and paste to hear me on most days ) http://www.govtv.us/languagechanger.php, (click of view demo), and The First, Second and Third Annual Latin Grammy Awards on CBS network station. America: Tribute to Heroes (due to 9/11 events)was aired world-wide. Simulcast interpretation was the Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS.
Esther is very proud to say that she was one of three escort interpreters for the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela during their stop in Los Angeles for their first US Tour. This assignment lasted 4 days from 7 am - midnight on most days but it has had the most positive impact in her life. It was a privilege to have had a tiny part in the lives of such talented musicians. Classical music will never be heard the same way. She has also worked with small and big screen celebrities as a dialect coach and language consultant. She has handled celebrity related lawsuits, depositions, and trials as she is familiar with the terminology used in the field and she is highly respectful of celebrities’ right to privacy. She's worked a dialect coach and script translator for 'ALIAS' with actress Jennifer Gardner, NBC TV show 'HEROES', during its second season, as a dialect coach and script translator; in 'OUTLAW' on NBC with Jimmy Smits and guest stars as dialect coach, script translator and consultant on courtroom procedures. The latest TV show "LAW AND ORDER: LOS ANGELES." She's had two television appearances as an interpreter for the Dr. Phil Show and one appearance on Judge Judy.
Born in Cuba and living in the United States along with her travels has afforded her the opportunity to meet people from different walks of life, thus, creating a cultural sensitivity that improves her job performance.
