Your doctor ordered part of your chemotherapy to be infused using a pump supplied by Ciscura Infusion Services. Your nurse will program the pump before connecting your chemotherapy.
How should I care for the pump?
• The pump is lightweight and can be worn in a pouch over your shoulder or in a fanny pack around you waist allowing you to carry on with your daily activities. At night you can continue to wear the pouch or place it in the bed beside you.
• The pumps are very durable but should not be dropped or exposed to extremes in temperature. If you drop your pump, notify the on call staff or your doctor’s office.
• The pump is water resistant but not waterproof. You should not get it wet. Place it on a chair beside the tub when bathing. If you accidentally drop the pump in water, remove it quickly, dry it off and call the support line or your nurse.
How do I know if the pump is working?
The status light will blink green. Periodically you may hear a short motor noise as the pump cycles.
How do I start or stop the pump?
To stop: Remove the clear front cover and press the red STOP button.
To start: Press the START button. The status light will blink green. Replace the front cover.
How do I change the batteries?
If the batteries are low, you will see a battery symbol on the screen and an alarm will sound.
To change the batteries:
• Remove the clear front cover and press the STOP button to stop the pump.
• Remove the old battery by pushing downward on the top of the battery.
• Place a new 9 Volt battery in the compartment (make sure to match the positive (+) and negative (-) with the pictures located inside the compartment. Push up to make sure it is seated.
• Restart the pump by pressing the START button. The status light will blink green.
• Replace the cover.
What do I do if the pump alarms?
Check the display and follow the guide:

Low Battery • The batteries are low. Change them soon.
Depleted Battery • The battery is dead and must be changed.
DoP • The small door holding the tubing has become dislodged. Call the support line for help.

(Medication is not getting through the tubing.) • Remove the front cover and press the STOP button to silence the alarm.
• Check the tubing for kinks or a closed clamp.
• Unkink the tubing or open the clamp.
• Restart the pump.
• If the alarm continues to sound, call the support line for help.

Ciscura’s answering service will contact the on call nurse. Please allow us 10 – 15 minutes to return your call. If you have not received a call from the on call nurse, call the number above again and let the operator know that it is your second call.
What do I do with the pump when I don’t need it
any more?
Return the pump to your doctor’s office. The nurses there will take care of it for you.

• Las bombas son muy durables pero evite que la suya caiga al piso y no la exponga a temperaturas extremas. Si deja caer su bomba, notifique al personal de guardia o al consultorio de su médico.
• La bomba es resistente al agua, pero no a prueba de ella, por tanto debe evitar humedecerla. Si accidentalmente deja caer la bomba en agua, retírela de inmediato, séquela y llame a la línea de apoyo o a su enfermera.
¿Está funcionando la bomba?
La luz verde de encendido parpadeará. Usted escuchará periódica y brevemente el ruido del motor cuando la bomba inicie su ciclo.
¿Cómo encender o apagar la bomba?
Para apagarla: Retire la tapa situada al frente de la bomba y presione el botón derecho STOP.
Para encender: Presione el botón START. La luz verde de encendido parpadeará. Coloque nuevamente la tapa.
¿Cómo cambiar las baterías?
Si las baterías están bajas, usted verá en la pantalla el dibujo de una batería y escuchará una alarma.
Para cambiar las baterías:
• Retire la tapa de la parte delantera de la bomba y presione el botón STOP.
• Retire la batería agotada presionándola hacia abajo.
• Coloque una batería nueva de 9 voltios en el compartimiento (asegúrese de que los polos positivo (+) y negativo (-) correspondan con los dibujos localizados dentro del compartimiento).Presione hacia arriba para asegurarse de que la pila ha quedado en su sitio.
• Vuelva a encender la bomba presionando el botón START. La luz verde empezará a parpadear.
• Coloque nuevamente la tapa.
¿Qué hacer si suena la alarma de la bomba?
