I am a full-time translator based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I translate texts of nearly all types, but I mainly translate in the specialized fields of religious/doctrinal literature, children's literature, music lyrics, and poetry, as well as fiction and non-fiction literary texts regarding most subjects. I am able to translate medical translations of a general nature, but I do not consider myself qualified to translate medical translations of a highly specific or complex nature.
I also do consecutive interpreting in the SPA>ENG>SPA language combinations. I have interpreted for business seminars, church conferences, and for many different professionals (doctors, attorneys, counselors) in local, national, and international settings. I am NOT certified for court interpreting. I have some experience in simultaneous interpreting as well, both for business and religious seminars, but I do not possess my own equipment for this service.
Additionally, I do ENG>ENG, SPA>ENG, and ENG>SPA transcriptions. I own SONY and Panasonic VSC professional transcription equipment, and I have transcribed the proceedings of conferences, focus groups, seminars, and interviews.
Although I do not operate an agency, I work together with a team of native-speakers of Spanish. The following is an overview of some of the jobs we have completed or are currently in the process of completing.
