Texto de origen - inglés As the countdown to racing continues, the weather situation is closely monitored and decisions about what sails to carry on the yacht are constantly reviewed. Each yacht is limited to a total on-board sail weight of 650kg, so when the final selection is made just before the 10-minute gun, the sailmakers do a quick calculation of the total dry weight of the sails on board to ensure the team is under the limit.
For the sailmakers, the big workload is at the end of the day. Every sail that was used during the day is laid out on the loft floor and painstakingly checked for any damage, chafe, or wear and tear that might need repairing. The huge 500m2 spinnakers are also checked and then hung out to dry.

Il peso massimo consentito a bordo per le vele è di 650kg, quindi una volta presa la decisione finale i velai calcolano velocemente il peso totale delle vele caricate per essere sicuri di non superare i limiti.
I velai il grosso del lavoro lo fanno a fine giornata. Tutte le vele utilizzate vengono distese sul pavimento del sailing loft e Iontrollate palmo a palmo per escludere eventuali danni strappi o segni di logorio e usura. I giganteschi spinnaker da 500 m2 vengono anch’essi sottoposti allo stesso controllo per poi venir stesi ad asciugare all'aria aperta.
