: "...via inhibition of ß2 receptors." IMO the original is ambiguous on purpose. Bisoprolol is a ß1-"selective" blocker, so it says there is only minor effect on ß2 receptors resulting in a slight effect on smooth muscle tone.

Not totally sure, but I think the phrase refers to the effect, not the quantity or dose. The Hemmung effect on the receptors is minimal, which is enough to increase muscle tone.
