We have a lot of xml files, which should be quickly translated by several translators of our team in Trados 2011 (translators create sdlxliff on their own using our setting file). We have a lot of xml files, which should be quickly translated by several translators of our team in Trados 2011 (translators create sdlxliff on their own using our setting file). The translators clean up their files and we send them to the client. Then we have some more time to proofread these files and we should clean up them again. Here we have a problem. Creating a project, Trados records location of the file with translation. To clean up this file we should have the same path to the file.
However, we cannot clean up this file on another computer after editing. Neither freelance, nor professional version can do this. Even the translator, who cleaned up this file once, cannot clean it one more time after editing. It is possible only if the translator makes a copy of the original project.
There is one solution. We can open each file with translation in notepad and change the paths manually. But it is very inconvenient, taking into account that we have thousands of files.
Please advise, is it possible to set up Trados to change the paths to the files automatically?
Or maybe we are doing something wrong.
How should this work, when it is not a project manager who creates a project and 2 packages: 1 for translator and 1 for editor. What should we do, if in order to provide translation quicker, we need to ask translators to create sdlxliff files themselves and then clean up them, but later we also have an editing stage of these sdlxliff files and need to clean up them again? ▲ Collapse
