Spanish term

aguas de contingencia diaria

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Mining & Minerals / Gems Bid for service for draining water from mine
Precise context is that one of the tasks of the successful bidder will be:
"Construcción y mantención de la(s) piscina(s) principal(es) donde llegarán todas las aguas de contingencia diaria."
The idea being to drain the mine, I am wondering what these "aguas de contingencia" are, and where the idea of "daily" fits in.
Thank you in advance for your assistance here.

Hi, Katya and Noni, I appreciate your input. It is a bit puzzling isn't it? It is from Chile.
Noni Gilbert Riley Mar 20, 2011:
@Katya Also sounds v plausible - except for this pesky "daily" which is a bit odd here... In Spain contingencia is not always in the context of emergency, although I agree that it would work well as this in our context. Difficult to say.... ;-)
Katya Robledo Mar 19, 2011:
Contingency implies in case of emergency? I'm sure enough to post a response, but from the context I'd say it is the contingency water supply as in the emergency water sources, such as rain or some other source to fill up the pools and have it ready on a daily basis in case of an unexpected event.
Jessica Noyes (asker) Mar 19, 2011:
Thank you, Ryan, for helping me out here.
Ryan Armbrust Diaz (X) Mar 19, 2011:
Hi Jessica I think the idea is that the contractor must build and maintain the main pools that will be supplied with the agreed amount of water per day.

daily water supply

I started off with "daily water requirements" and take this to mean the minimum agreed quantity.
