Spanish term or phrase: O A (abbreviations on a tax form)
From a tax return form:

Ejercicio ........... 2009
Tipo ejercicio ..... 1
Periodo ............. O A
De 01/01/2009 a 31/12/2009

The "O" and "A" are separate abbreviations.

It just means it covers the whole year
Explanation:
Just checked my own tax returns.

The quarterly income tax (and VAT) forms are numbered 1T, 2T, 3T, 4T, for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Trimester.

The yearly forms give the period as 0A, i.e. ningún trimestre, año.

Anyway, the period on your form is De 01/01/2009 a 31/12/2009, so it has to be the year.

-> yes, sorry, should have said that. It is a zero.

agree  Emma Goldsmith: Yup. Sorry, I tried to paste a link to AEAT website but it doesn't work. Still, what it says is : "Para las presentaciones anuales: 0A (cero, A). "
