Spanish term

Participación Concreta

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) Legal
(It is one of the sections of an Indictment)

"Autoría o Participación Concreta Que Se Atribuye Al Acusado"

I thought of these three choices:

"Authorship Or Participation Attributed To The Accused"

"Autorship Or Eager Involvement Attributed To The Accused"

"Autorship Or Eager Participation Attributed To The Accused"

I think it has to be either "Eager Involvement" or "Eager Participation", though.

Discussion

AllegroTrans Dec 16, 2021:
An "accused" may be formally charged but not yet made a defendant in criminal proceedings.
I may also be a devil's advocate here because translating this kind of text OUT of one's own native language can be...well...risky to say the least.

I am playing devil's advocate here: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/es/diccionario/espanol-ing...
Jorge: "Acusado" is "Accused", but can also be "Defendant". As nouns, defendant is a hypernym of accused; that is, defendant is a word with a broader meaning than accused and accused is a type of defendant with the definitions:
a defendant in a criminal proceeding

Concrete Involvement

In Mexico, it may well literally mean sinking the body with a block of concrete.

In the USA, this is likelier to be first-degree, active participation.

BTW, Autoría is commission, perpetration or 'intelectual: masterminding', West, as principal or joint / co-principal. Authorship is generally not used in English Common Law countries for the unwritten deeds of miscreants.

PS Accused and Defendant are used interchangeably in some Anglo-Am. textbooks on the law of evidence, though watch out for the right term used in private prosecutions by narked individuals : over to our evidentiary experts ....
Example sentence:

His concrete involvement and role in the respective crime(s), ...

Pity your concentration span is so short.

Thank, Phil. Maybe Andrew B. alias Oliver T. can keep taking his own medicine.
agree Toni Castano : Pathetic. This person can change his/her name as many times as needed, but the mind and attitude always remain the same. ProZ.com should take action, real action, truly. The damage he/she causes to the site is indescribable.

Thanks and gracias, Toni. Other trolls, paradoxically racist translators and trouble-makers seem to have been barred from the ProZ site.

material/substantive involvement

I plumped for a less literal translation and have no problem with other suggestions.
Peer comment(s):

agree Taña Dalglish : I do like material too, Melody and it is a good choice, IMO.

Thank you Andrew
neutral Sandro Tomasi : I believe both would cover autoría, not participación wich would be acting in concert along the lines of an accessory.
