IP address locator

Hi ProZians,
Almost every time I try to locate a visitor, Geobytes indicates that it is impossible. I have also tried webmaster-toolkit.com, with more success, I must admit.
The problem is that some addresses do not seem to be registered anywhere. Is there a list of (at least) country codes for IP address locators?
If this has been discussed before, please indicate the link. I could not find anything in the "Forum Search" feature.

Much more effective than Geobytes Dec 22, 2005

I have tried out both IP2location and Whois. Both are much more effective than Geobytes. Indeed, little mistake still happened. They suggested that I am in Sumatra Utara while in fact I am in Sumatra Barat. As a whole, they are really helpful to identify our visitors.

When they identified me, they were pretty accurate.

Russell: when I did a forum search (my key words were: Geobytes, IP address locator), the ProZ engine gave no results at all. It sounds strange because Geobytes was the subject of your enquiry in the link to the thread you mentioned above...
