This is a rather unwieldy sentence. I'm assuming that "ambos" is referring to "mandos intermedios" and the "Servicio de Prevención", but how this fits exactly with the rest of the sentence is a bit less straightforward. Does "por" mean "by" or "for" here? Are the "mandos intermedios" receiving the useful information from the "Servicio de Prevención". I think the key issue is probably how best to translate "por" here in order for it all to make sense and flow nicely.

What's confusing me is how the involvement of middle management in safety can show middle management's interest in providing useful knowledge to itself. Surely it should be that it shows their interest in receiving such knowledge with the Servicio de Prevención being the ones who provide it. |

Forgot to add that this rather shoddy piece of corporate PR BS aims to extoll the virtues of its MM.
Embarassingly, they needed to get involved/hands on before realising their ignorance of the responsibilities they were getting paid for ;-)

I think you're assuming they know how to write.
IMO, this is not the case.
I'd be more concerned with how to translate "pone de manifiesto".
I'd scrap "fruto de" and say "the involvement and collaboration of XX and YY has/have brought to the forefront their common/mutual interest in etc...."
