'According to' is sloppy and not correct legal usage. 'According to his mother, he's a good boy'. In accordance with = pursuant to = under. But as I say, I don't know about 'in accordance with the invention'. You would translate it "in accordance with the invention," e.g., if the text reads: such and such must be done erfindungsgmaess. I am sometimes tempted to translate the term: "as described in the invention" instead of "according to the invention," but the term of art is really "according to the invention." |
