Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / Nicaragua
Spanish term or phrase: camioneta de tina
Not much context: the term is used in the context of a sandinista guerrilla commander describing how he disguised himself as an engineer:

Y una semana después estaba en Managua, dirigiendo el Frente Interno, disfrazado como de ingeniero, pues, en una camioneta de tina, con unos rótulos de una compañía consultora, pues, muchos planos bajo el brazo, con un casco de aluminio, con lápices y todo.

Is it simply a term used in Nicaragua to refer to a pickup truck?

Thank you.

Explanation:
Depending on the country it has several names, for example a Camioneta de Platón is the same here..in US - Mexican border they kill the language and call it a "Troca" (half/ half)..that is so ugly I would not even call it Spanglish..its killglish!

Notes to answerer
Asker: I suspected this: since "tina" is "tub" the idea is that the open bed of the truck resembles a bathtub (I suppose). Thank you.
