Al fin y al cabo, salvando monos ya se obtienen bulas morales y una segunda copa gratis en los bares de progreso, y ello sin arriesgarse a que Rosa Regás te arroje una maceta desde la ventana por sucio imperialista o por cavernario de la derecha más extrema.
En su próxima entrevista en Marie Claire, la Pimpinela Escarlata de Zetapé podrá presumir de haber agregado a los simios a los colectivos maltratados de los que es justiciero. Ignoramos todavía si los meterá como cuota en el Gobierno, tal vez en la cartera de Cultura. O en la Ejecutiva, como a Zerolo, para hacerse con otro botín de votos cautivos. En realidad, y si en la granja española según Zetapé la contestación popular es perseguida hasta el intento de cierre de los medios críticos, su mundo feliz con poder perpetuo se completaría mediante la sustitución progresiva, en la sociedad civil, de personas desafectas al régimen por monos. Ya no harían falta ni el CAC ni la policía política para someter voluntades.

Having gained a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I worked in the IT field for 15 years, specializing in the design, production, implementation and localization of mainframe-based production control, business and finance software. 10 of those 15 years were spent in German speaking countries - 3 in Germany (Düsseldorf), 1 in Switzerland (Zürich), and 6 in Austria (Vorarlberg).
On my return to UK, and after 3 years well-paid but tedious computer contracting, I approached a few translation companies for work, based on several years of on-the-job and ad hoc experience. Fluent German and a wealth of relevant experience, I discovered, were of little value if not supported by an academic linguistic qualification. So I sat a German A-level and applied to university.
4 years later, including 1 year studying Translation & Interpreting at the University of Málaga, I was awarded with a BA (Hons) in German & Spanish from Northumbria University - 1st class with distinction in spoken German and prizes for outstanding performance (i.e. best student) in both German and Spanish. Throughout my degree course I consistently achieved top marks in translation assignments, with the head of Modern Languages stating on my graduation: “I think you are a gifted translator with a great future in the profession”. I am now in the process of fulfilling her expectations.
Since graduation I have specialized in the translation and proofreading of DE->EN & ES->EN texts in the following subject areas: SAP, business, engineering, IT, legal, financial, travel, marketing, publishing and education. I also spent 2 months in Cologne as a senior translator (DE->EN) on an SAP localization project.
