mesh shield wire

Explanation:
This refers to the mesh shielding that surrounds the central core wire of a coaxial cable. If you cut a coaxial cable in half and strip back the rubber insulation, you can see this mesh wire.

See wikpedia for description of how coaxial cables work and are designed. The site uses "metallic shield" as the name for the あみ組線, but I believe that this term is not 100% fixed and you could just call it the 'shield wire' or simply 'shield' . あみ組 refers to the mesh pattern of the shield; I have included the word 'mesh' in my suggested translation to capture this nuance.

the second reference shows an image of a cut coaxial cable. the mesh shield wire is visible as the first layer beneath the outer insulation.

agree  RieM: Indeed, this is 編組. I suspect that braid/braided/mesh are used almost interchangeablly.
