Seeing the context used, I would use either "worth mentioning" or "important". These words can stay on their own separated by a comma, as is the sentence you have provided. I have found the word "noteworthy" more often used associated with a noun proceding or following it, as in "a noteworthy contribution".

I would like to add that I just noticed Ken Cox 's comment above. I am glad he shares the same opinion with me that noteworthy is just not the right word here, although it is a synonym to "of note". This sentence is not the right context for it.
