Japanese term

丸型(人造)黒鉛電極

Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial
I'm only concerned with knowing the proper translation for 丸型 in this phrase. I don't know if it refers to "man-made" and that's why it comes before (人造).

Cylindrical

Some might say that 丸型( means 'circular' but, in this case, because it refers to the actual shape of the electrodes the better translation is probably 'cylindrical'. I would translate the entire phrase as "Cylindrical, man-made (synthetic, artificial) graphite electrodes". Unlike carbon, graphite is a conductor (substance that conducts electricity) and, therefore, highly suitable for use as an electrode. HTH.
