German term

anaphorisch

German to English Social Sciences Religion
From a book of academic theology:

Discussion

William Howden (asker) May 21, 2012:
Thanks, again, for your help Horst. I have asked the author for clarification here. I tend to agree that avoiding the rather arcane "anaphorish / anaphoric" entirely would be best.
Horst Huber (X) May 21, 2012:
Unfortunately, this has been totally misread. Dem sich X verdankt, means X owes its existence to the referent of "Dem". You would come up with something like "of which faith is the result" never mind "anaphorisch" which may be a malapropism here.

is anaphorically a result of faith

I'm not sure what you are asking, William.
Note from asker:
Thanks for your suggestion. Along with Horst's comment, it helped sort out a difficult sentence.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Horst Huber (X) : It would be that viewpoint or vision to which faith owes (its formation?) and which in response it expresses as its ground and content (?) I guess it is a blending of semiotics into theology?
