In a college transcript, several subjects are listed "Mineur" and several others "MM". Examples are "MM. Méthodes de promotion" and "MM. Atelier". Is this a major subject? Records are from U. Paris 8.

: "module" is masculine, so "Module Majeur", but yes I think this is it.

You are quite right. My typo, probably influenced by French usage of "Majeure" alone, as Nikki points out.

: Since the move to the LMD system in France, the use of the terms MajeurE and MineurE have become common (with the capital letter and the "e", it being understood that it is in reference to "discipline". More context needed: maj, min or demi-mineure???

Discussion
On my French 2012 masters transcript, all abbreviations are set out in full at the bottom of the page. That is apprently not the case here. However, with the full course name, if the course is still being run, then with the course name) it is likely to be possible to track down which of the UE (unité d'enseignements') modules are major or minor. You final option is contacting the secrétariat of the faculty.
