Jeg leter etter et godt engelsk ord eller uttrykk for det norske ordet 'bovane', som betyr, om jeg ikke tar helt feil, hvordan folk innretter seg i boligen sin. Trenger det i forbindelse med oversettelse av en rapport om bovaner i sma boliger.

Discussion
There are two Norwegian terms which might require some explanation. The first is “bovane” (lit. accustomed way of using a home). It refers basically to what people do in the home to accommodate needs and wishes with regard to furnishing, use of space etc. We use the term “domestic arrangement” here, despite the somewhat inadequate translation.
The problem with 'habit' (either domestic or living) is that it is a bit too literal. I was hoping there might be an equivalent technical term, but I don't think there is.
I might add that I contacted a lecturer in town planning at Sheffield University, but he wasn't aware of a comparable expression.
