I am trying to translate this part from «Столп» (1928)

The whole poem in Russian ( if anyone has a link to the English version, beer is on me):

"but to criticise / and with scum / to fight" (c) A. Miller, D. Rottenberg

We call on all
not to stand aloof,
but to criticise
and with scum
to fight,
and that alone
is the very best proof
of our purity
and our might.

Actually, I'm not sure if it's their translation, or if Alex Miller and Dorian Rottenberg quoted somebody else's in their book, because Google books gives only a snippet view.

critics/ decimate / dirt (dirt decimated by critics)
