The term appears in a description of findings from a research study, and the effects of different products on electrolyte levels: 'Aunque los *cambios globales* de la calcemia no fueron estadísticamente significativos ....'

Can I say "overall changes" for this? I don't think that 'global changes' is appropriate here. Thanks to everybody!
