servizi

Italian to English Other Real Estate description of an apartment
There's a common problem and I am sure I've seen the solution in ProZ but I can't find it right now.

In a description of an apartment, say cinque camere e servizi, I assume the servizi mean at least a kitchen and a bathroom but I am not sure, it could be a kitchenette or a cooking corner in the living room or kitchen, a laundry and a restroom.... It's impossible to ask the client. Facilities doesn't really give the idea of a cooking point.

Utilities remind me of bills. Any nice form in Notarial/Legalese English?

TIA

Nov 1, 2016 19:16: writeaway changed "Field" from "Law/Patents" to "Other"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): writeaway, Ana Claudia Macoretta

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

From my Googling, it appears to mean kitchen and bathroom. And 4 camere seems to be 3 bedrooms plus lounge.

Al plur., l’insieme delle installazioni igieniche di cui è fornita una casa di civile abitazione: appartamento con doppî s.; talvolta può includere anche la cucina e altri ambienti accessorî: appartamento di tre stanze e servizî; s. igienici, l’insieme (lavabo, doccia o vasca, bidè, water closet) delle apparecchiature e degli impianti destinati alla pulizia personale e ai bisogni fisiologici;

servizi I believe "servizi" basically means any area that "serves" the house, such as bathrooms, kitchen, pantry, laundry room, service balcony. As such they are not areas you actually live in - like a dining room , sitting room or bedroom.

Utility rooms

I would prefer bathrooms/utility rooms or just utility rooms if you want a single word.

Toilet/Bathroom

I thought servizi only referred to the toilets, not kitchens. Is it for an office?
Note from asker:
not it's an apartment. In Italy servizi include a kitchen or a cooking corner at least, not specified.
Peer comment(s):

agree Carl Stoll : "Servizio" by itself usually means the toilet, but the term that encompasses kitchen, bathroom, storeroom, etc. is "locali (di) servizio"
