ci ho fatto la tesi su questa roba! Il termine generico è slip, poi se vuoi dire tipo "barbottina di smalto" allora diventa "glaze slip" e via dicendo.

la barbottina è semplicemente una sospensione acquosa - o di materiali da impasto, in genere argille, o di smalto - e viene spesso chiamata anche \"torbida\". Il processo di \"colaggio della barbottina\" negli stampi in inglese è \"slip casting\". Penso troverai molti riferimenti su google.
