Explanation:
A curious term that's hard to translate literally as 'thick to view', or 'non-transparent'. There seem to be two functions: to keep the skin warm and blemishes covered. In practice it seems to mean 'tights' as opposed to 'pantyhose'. (not that I understand women's fashion.)

Blickdichte:
Hierunter fallen alle Strumpfhosen mit einer Feinheit von 40 den und mehr. Es gibt die blickdichte Strumpfhose als reine Nylon-Version ebenso wie mit hohem Baumwoll-Anteil. Bis zu 80% Baumwolle sind verfügbar und auch angenehm zu tragen.

Eingesetzt werden blickdichte Strumpfhosen vor allem wenn es kalt ist. Ob zu Rock oder Hose, eine blickdichte Strumpfhose wärmt stets angenehm, vorausgesetzt die Größe ist richtig gewählt.

Ein weiteres Anwendungsgebiet für blickdichte Strumpfhosen ist gegeben, wenn die Beine viele optische Fehler haben (Besenreiser, Krampfadern, ...). Diese optischen Mängel werden durch eine blickdichte Feinstrumpfhose sauber kaschiert.

Darüber hinaus gibt es noch die Strickstrumpfhosen. Sie haben mehr oder weniger dicke Rippen und sind meist kuschelig warm. Unter einer Hose könnte das aber schnell zu viel werden. Abraten würde ich allerdings von Strumpfhosen mit Schurwolle. Diese haben sehr oft dicke und feste Komponenten integriert und kratzen entsprechend.

disagree  HarryHedgehog: sorry, this would just be "Stärke" or "Dicke", totally different concepts. The term you're looking for is "opacity" (thanks for the tip, efreitag)

  -> I know, I know. But 'opaque socks' doesn't work for me... It's the concept that needs translation,not the literal 'meaning' of opacity..
