mit einem Alu-Siegel-Verschluß zugeschweißt is thermo-sealed a possibility?

German term (edited): mit einem Alu-Siegel-Verschluß zugeschweißt
Selected

with air-tight aluminum seal

I would just rephrase it, because these hemostatic sponges are usually sealed either with aluminum and plastic cap or wrapped in aluminum .... this is glass, therefore it is air-tight sealed with aluminum and then there is a plastic cap over that one.

agree DC Josephs : perhaps also mentioned heat-sealed (presumably as opposed to using adhesives)

you are right it is usually thermo-sealed to keep the active ingredient which is mostly thrombin from degrading -- that in turn is used in oral and other surgeries to stop bleeding
