I've been asked to find an English equavalent/translation for "Betriebsrat für das wissenschaftliche Personal" for the homepage of a German university.
The problem is that for Betriebsrat I've found instances where 'works council' was used and others where 'workers' council' was used, but am not sure which one is more accurate. I've tried to find the difference between the two options, but have not been able to find something that clearly implies that one option is better than another for 'Betriebsrat' in this case.
I'd appreciate any and all help you can provide.

I agree with Nora. There may be in-house variants but this is easily understood and accurate.
