Supreme (or Superior) Leader, Supreme (or Superior) Guru, Complete Guru Explanation: As you stated, it was a title used for Shah Abbas. Morshed can be roughly translated to Guru. It's from Arabic root R SH D, which means to grow (i.e. Roshd) or to Enhance. Morshed (i.e. Mof-el template of R SH D) is one who helps you grow or enhance. But in the given context and as Shah Abbas was a ruler/leader, "leader" could be used too. HTH PS: The opposite of Morid in Sufi circles is usually Moraad. |

Supreme Murshid/Most Perfect Sufi Guide Explanation: اکمل is an Arabic superlative adjective, meaning "the most immaculate". Murshid (Arabic: مرشد) is Arabic for "guide" or "teacher". Particularly in Sufism it refers to a Sufi teacher. |
