Hi Simon,

The literal meaning of this expression is "to get one's head out of somewhere". If you think of a mouse (just as an example!) that's crawling through underground mazes and suddenly finds a way out to a closet, you can perhaps grasp the literal sense. So, this از originally means "from" as in "head from the hole" in our mouse's case, but here we can actually suppose it means "to".

Many thanks. Could the از here mean "to" instead of "from"? It makes me think of لز کسی دیدن رفتن.
