Hi all,
It seems that I am late here. However, I'd like to give a say regarding this question. I do not know the meaning of this word, but- IMHO- there is no proof or indication that it means Sri Lankan. The list is not classified by nationalities. Moreover, the possibility of typo is very narrow because the Arabic word for Sri lankan is سريلانكيون أو سريلانكيين. No one says سرلانكية. Also, it is not common to confuse the لا with هـ
To the best of my guess, such a word looks like Persian words. It could be used in GCC like many other imported words.
I think it would have been more helpful if the asker posted a further translation brief. I post this discussion entry with a good intent in pursuit of a more convincing answer, for me at least.
