Incorrect transcription or person stumbling over words
As it stands, this is meaningless. It appears to be a bad transcription of speech. Either something has been omitted or the speaker is stumbling over their words and has corrected their error "after the conference", with what they meant to say "before the conference". It is likely that both of the above are true, i.e. some of the speech has been omitted AND the speaker is correcting him/herself.
