Discussion

Alex Harshaw (asker) Sep 29, 2014:
According to research and comments from the client, the "secreto de comunicación" refers to the fact that the conversation cannot be heard by other tenants and only by the person called. They also said "llamada eléctronica" means that, instead of a buzzer/bell, when the intercom rings, it plays a melody.
philgoddard Sep 25, 2014:
I think "de llamada" might mean "phone-based". "Electrónica" seems to be redundant as they've already said it. "Secreto de comunicación" could mean that it can't be overheard by others, ie you have to pick up a handset.

electronic call and private communication

I looked this up on the wikipedia article. Apparently what they are referring to is that the call goes to a single flat, rather than all the tenants.

Incidentally, a literal translation would be difficult here because the concept of "portero" doesn't really exist in English. The closest I could find was "manned reception".

secret electronic communication call

Not much CONTEXT, but that's what I can provide.
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : I think this is too literal, and we have enough context to go on.

Literal is all I can provide with such scarce CONTEXT. Do you have a specific answer to contribute?
