This is a type of tubing used in HPLC and such. It seems to me that fine tubing is sometimes called "hypodermic", maybe because hypodermic needles have similar gauge sizes. But how do I call this in German? And is it really just about the size?
Examples:
MicroGroup hypodermic tubing is ideal for medical and industrial components applications that require strength, uniformity, and corrosion resistance. (http://www.microgroup.com/Products/StockTubing/hypodermic_tu... )
We are a stocking distributor of small diameter tubing, including standard hypodermic sizes. (http://www.raven-ind.com/tubing.htm)
When discussing the size of a fractional tube we talk about the OD and the wall thickness. This is different from hypodermic or what is commonly referred to as needle tubing. Hypodermic tubing is referred to by gage size. (http://www.nesmalltube.com/about_tubing/ )

perhaps....
Note from asker:
Thank you. The tubing in my case appears to be flexible, though, and appears to be made of a material similar to PEEK. So terms with "Rohr" are probably not fitting. |
