Excavator
The verb "read over" appears on an instruction manual for an excavator. There appears a drawing with a dump truck in front of an excavator. The excavator is lifting some material from the dump truck. I don't think read over means "read entirely" in this context. Many thanks for your help.
4 Loading Work
Position the dump truck so as to achieve a small swing radius and good visibility for the operator to work effectively.
Also ***read over*** the rear of the dump truck, rather than over the side, as this makes the operator?s work easier and increases efficiency.

A typo for reach?
And I found a similar diagram in a manual that has this text:
Loading dump trucks is easier and the loading capacity
is greater if the mini excavator loads from the rear of the
dump truck rather than from the side.

Unless I'm missing something and "to read over" is some kind of specialized term in excavator technology.
