Spanish term

claraboyas

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering wiring installation
The illlustration for the caption is of huge circular light inlets in the ceiling of a library. It's in a text about natural light architectural components. Can't use "skylight" as the text says "lucernas y claraboyas", and I've used skylight for "lucerna".
Thanks

Just to confirm: These light inlets are windows of some kind?

roof lights/ windows

Having read your list under pasos de luz, I've more confidence and feel clearer.

Roof light is a window, despite its contradictory name - I've double checked! http://www.loftshop.co.uk/products_detail.asp?catID=1&typeID... "Traditional Roof Light".

Just a shame roof window doesn´t have quite the same ring about it!

http://www.ascinfo.co.uk/9/company/05/96/04/company_9.html has info about "roof lanterns" - rather too specific in shape for me to offer this. But the site has more interesting variations.

roof-light

una opción.
Note from asker:
Yes - they're just glass circles in the ceiling. I think roof-light covers it.
