Tackling the Japanese translation market

You must log in before you can access most features of this event.

Schedule:This session ended at 16:20
Description:Japan is one of the biggest, yet most complex translation markets in the world. But even though the demand for translation services is rapidly increasing as the country displays more affinity towards international business and interaction, rare foreign service providers manage to enter the market. Cultural differences, work ethics, workflow specifics and different customer expectations are just part of the reason why Japanese companies are reluctant to trust overseas translation providers. With the upcoming Olympics and local companies seeking international recognition, there has never been a better time to overcome cultural and break language barriers.

How to identify these obstacles and gain customer trust in Japan? How to succeed as a translator and engage in long-term projects with Japanese companies? During this session, we will observe the circumstances of the Japanese translation industry and examine methods to tackle this very specific market.
