CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION
PROSPECTS ARE NOT TO BE INVITED TO NEW HIRE CONNECTION UNTIL THEY HAVE
BEEN INTERVIEWED AND HAVE COMPLETED THEIR CONSIDERATION PACKAGE. THE
PROSPECT MUST UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THE PERFORMING ARTIST CRITERIA
PRIOR TO THE AUDITION.
1. Any individual prospect must have at least 2 years (licensed) in the beauty industry.
2. Any individual prospect must have a current cosmetology license (if applicable). If they do
not keep their license current, we hold the right to terminate their position with Redken
laboratories.
3. Any individual prospect must understand that they may be asked to travel, work two days
per week, work evenings and/or work full weekends periodically.
4. Any individual prospect must have either:
A current working knowledge of Redken products
A tremendous desire to learn and use Redken products.
5. Any individual prospect must understand and agree that they are required to work in (or
own) a Redken ambassador salon within 3 months after selection. Remind them that
Redken will support any transition from any other product line to Redken.
6. Any individual prospect must understand and accept the fee and payment structure of
Redken’s artist program. They should also know that we might choose to change the
structure of our program as the beauty industry changes.
7. Any individual prospect must understand the importance of “informational sessions” that are
offered for orientation and update purposes.
8. Any individual prospect must and agree that they are representing Redken (not themselves
or their salon), therefore they must uphold the Redken image. They must also maintain their
knowledge of existing and new products and technical information.
9. Any individual prospect must understand and agree that they will maintain a good and
respectable relationship with all Redken distributor companies and will uphold Redken’s
policies & procedures for all working relationships therefore.
10. Any individual prospect must understand and agree that they will achieve a higher platform
(level) only if they respect and fulfill the above criteria. We are not obligated to make them
national artists.
11. Any individual prospect must understand and agree to maintain their status as a Redken
Salon for the duration of their position as an artist.
12. Any individual prospect must understand and agree that they may be asked to share their
knowledge and expertise with their fellow performing artist members.
REDKEN ARTIST EVALUATION
Any member of the Redken performing artist program can expect to be re-evaluated
periodically. These re-evaluations are conducted for the purpose of assessing their
performance skills and knowledge of Redken products. The evaluations of performing artist
team members can help determine additional information session needs, renewal of
membership and status level placement.
Re-evaluation should not be thought of in a “negative” manner. However, if explained correctly,
the members should understand that this is a measure to help perfect their abilities to teach and
perform. Those who understand this will welcome the opportunity to grow stronger by learning
their strengths and weaknesses.
The process for re-evaluation should be part of your yearly educational plan.
Example:
Once a year, each one of your Redken artist team members will be re-evaluated. You will
include these re-evaluations as part of your yearly educational plan by including each member’s
evaluation date in your calendar. As memberships increase, you should combine these
evaluations (if you have 15 or more artists, combining re-evaluations is essential). Try to
schedule them around artist informational sessions and/or meetings.
Your performing artist group may choose to be re-evaluated in front of each other… as a team
evaluation. Your group may want the privacy of a one-on-one evaluation. In either case, the
goal is to make each individual member stronger and more polished.
Plan to include the Redken Educators and Sales Manager. The determination of the
advancement of your team members should be based on an overall opinion.
As your relationships with your team members grow, you may find it difficult to critique them,
especially if the critique is negative. Always keep in mind that it is your responsibility to assess
the skills and knowledge of your performing artists.
Send the “invitation for re-evaluation form” and the “re-evaluation rsvp” to the individuals that
you have scheduled to be re-evaluated.
After you have sent the invitation for re-evaluation, keep track of the responses. Follow these
procedures for the following:
1. No response –
If you do not get an invitation response from an RA, then you must contact them by phone
and verbally ask them if they can or cannot attend. If they decline, ask them what their
reason is.
If they decline because they do not wish to renew their performing artist membership, ask
them if they will put that in writing. When you receive their written in-active membership
letter, send them the “in-active performing artist letter” from the talent search and hiring
manual.
2. Decline response –
if you receive an rsvp from an individual RA that declines the scheduled invitation, you must
contact them by phone to schedule an alternative date.
3. Inactive membership response –
if you receive an rsvp from an individual RA that wishes not to renew their performing artist
membership, you must do the following:
Contact the individual by phone to confirm their wish not to renew their performing artist
membership.
Send a copy of their rsvp response and an “artist status form” (with in-active checked) to the
Redken educational dept.
Keep a copy of their rsvp response for your files.
Notify your distributor principal, distributor sales manager, distributor educational manager,
business development manager, and the dsc that calls on the RA salon.
Send the individual RA the “inactive performing artist letter” from the talent search and hiring
manual.
EVALUATION ALTERNATIVES
Most re-evaluations will be done in groups. However, it may not always be possible for you to
conduct group re-evaluations. The alternatives for group re-evaluations are as follows:
1. Individual re-evaluation – if an individual RA declines (with the rsvp) the group invitation
date, you must contact them by phone and schedule an individual re-evaluation that is
convenient for both of you.
2. One-on-one re-evaluation – depending on the numbers of RA that are due for re-evaluation,
demographic restrictions, and/or individual needs, you may choose to do one-on-one reevaluations. Fill in the date, time, and location of the re-evaluation.
3. Salon class or store class re-evaluation – you may choose to re-evaluate an individual RA
while they conduct an actual salon/store class. This is a wonderful way of evaluating their
performance during a real class environment. If you want to re-evaluate an individual RA
during a class, choose a class that has already been scheduled with the RA. Simply fill the
salon/store name, salon/store town/city, and the type of class that the RA has been
scheduled for in the “location” section.
4. Video re-evaluations – there may be times when circumstances such as demographics
make it impossible for a Redken educator and an RA to meet for a re-evaluation. In these
rare cases, a video re-evaluation may be the answer. Instead of sending the invitation,
contact the individual RA by phone to request that they send you a video of them performing
their topic of choice. You should still send the individual RA the ‘tips” for performing sheet.
During the individuals re-evaluation presentation, you will fill out the “re-evaluation form”, in
conjunction with an “audition evaluation form” or a “specialist audition evaluation form” (if
you are re-evaluating specialists).

não mantiver a sua licença em dia, temos o direito de rescindir o contrato que mantém com
os laboratórios Redken.
3. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender que podem ser solicitados ocasionalmente
para viajar, trabalhar à noite, dois dias por semana e/ou fazer fins-de-semana.
4. Cada um dos CANDIDATOS DEVE DEMONSTRAR:
Um nível de conhecimentos funcional atualizado dos produtos Redken.
Uma vontade tremenda em aprender e utilizar produtos Redken.
5. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender e aceitar a necessidade de trabalhar num
salão de um embaixador Redken ou ser proprietário do mesmo 3 meses após a seleção.
Relembre-lhe que a Redken concede apoio a qualquer transição entre outra linha de
produtos e a Redken.
6. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender e aceitar a estrutura de pagamentos e taxas
do Artistic Program (Programa Artístico) da Redken. Devem também estar a par quanto à
possibilidade de optarmos por alterar a estrutura do programa à medida que ocorrerem
mudanças na indústria de beleza.
7. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender a importância das "sessões informativas” que
são proporcionadas para finalidades de orientação e atualização.
8. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender e aceitar que estão em representação da
Redken (e não deles próprios ou do salão), pelo que devem assegurar a imagem da
empresa. Devem também manter um certo nível de conhecimentos quanto a produtos
novos e existentes, assim como de informação técnica.
9. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender e aceitar o compromisso de respeitar e manter
uma boa relação com todas as empresas de distribuição da Redken e sustentar as políticas
e os procedimentos da empresa relativos às relações de trabalho daí resultantes.
10. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender e aceitar o facto de que apenas poderão
atingir um patamar ou nível mais elevado se respeitar e concretizar os critérios acima
mencionados. Não somos obrigados a torná-los artistas nacionais.
11. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender e aceitar o compromisso de manter o seu
estatuto como profissional de salão Redken enquanto exercer o cargo de artista.
12. Cada um dos candidatos deve compreender e aceitar que poderão ser solicitados para
partilhar conhecimentos e competências especializadas com os colegas e membros da
empresa.
AVALIAÇÃO DO ARTISTA REDKEN
Qualquer membro da Redken performing artist program pode ser reavaliado periodicamente.
Estas reavaliações visam avaliar as competências de desempenho e o nível de conhecimentos
dos produtos Redken por parte do candidato. As avaliações aos membros da equipa
performing artist podem ajudar a determinar a renovação da filiação, o nível de estatuto e as
necessidades para sessões de informação adicional.
A reavaliação não deve ser concebida como algo “negativo”. Contudo, se forem devidamente
esclarecidos, os membros devem compreender que a reavaliação ajuda a aperfeiçoar as
capacidades de desempenho e ensino. Aqueles que o compreenderem vão agradecer esta
oportunidade de revitalização quando descobrirem os seus pontos fortes e fracos.
O processo de reavaliação deve fazer parte do Projeto Educativo Anual.
Exemplo:
Cada um dos membros da equipa de artistas Redken é reavaliado uma vez por ano. Deve
integrar estas reavaliações no Projeto Educativo Anual e incluir a data das avaliações de cada
membro na sua agenda. À medida que as inscrições forem aumentando, deve começar a
agrupar estas avaliações (se tiver 15 ou mais artistas, é vital a sua junção). Tente agendá-las
próximo das sessões de informação e/ou reuniões.
O grupo performing artist pode escolher ser reavaliado em frente uns dos outros… como uma
avaliação de equipa. O grupo reavaliado poderá desejar a privacidade de uma avaliação
individual. Em qualquer dos casos, o objetivo da reavaliação é tornar cada membro mais forte e
mais profissional.
Tente incluir os Educadores Redken e os Diretores de Vendas nas reavaliações. A
determinação da progressão dos membros da sua equipa deve ser baseada num parecer
global.
À medida que a sua relação com os membros da equipa se for desenvolvendo, será cada vez
mais difícil criticá-los, especialmente se a crítica for negativa. Mantenha sempre presente que é
da sua responsabilidade avaliar as competências e o nível de conhecimentos dos artistas.
Envie o “invitation (convite) for re-evaluation form” e a “re-evaluation rsvp” (reavaliação rsvp)
aos membros que vão ser reavaliados.
Depois de ter enviado a invitation (o convite), acompanhe as respostas que os membros vão
dando. Cumpra estes procedimentos em caso das seguintes situações:
1. Nenhuma resposta -
Se não obtiver uma resposta por parte do RA à invitation (convite), então deverá contactá-lo
pelo telefone e perguntar-lhe se tem ou não disponibilidade. Em caso de recusa, perguntelhe qual o motivo.
Caso o motivo da recusa seja a não intenção de renovar a sua filiação enquanto membro,
pergunte-lhe se pode deixar isso por escrito. Quando receber a “in-active performing artist
letter” do candidato, envie-lhe a “in-active performing artist letter" presente no manual "talent
search and hiring" (manual de recrutamento e seleção de pessoal).
2. Resposta de recusa -
Se receber um rsvp do RA a recusar a invitation (convite), deverá contactá-lo pelo telefone
para agendar uma data alternativa.
3. Resposta para estatuto de não-ativoSe receber um rsvp de um RA que não pretende renovar a sua filiação, deve fazer o
seguinte:
Contacte-o por telefone para confirmar o seu desejo de não renovação da sua filiação à
empresa.
Envie uma cópia das respostas rsvp e o “artist status form (formulário do estatuto de
artista)" (com um visto no quadrado do não-ativo) ao Departamento de Educação da
Redken.
Guarde uma cópia das respostas rsvp.
Notifique o Diretor, Diretor de vendas, Diretor de Educação e o Diretor de Desenvolvimento
Comercial da sua distribuidora, bem como a respetiva DSC do salão do RA.
Envie ao RA "in-active performing artist letter (carta)" presente no manual "talent search and
hiring" (manual de recrutamento e seleção de pessoal).
ALTERNATIVAS DE AVALIAÇÃO
A maioria das reavaliações é realizada em grupos. No entanto, pode nem sempre ser possível
para si realizar reavaliações em grupo. As alternativas para as reavaliações em grupo são as
seguintes:
1. Reavaliação individual - se um RA recusar, através do rsvp, a data da invitation (do convite)
para a reavaliação em grupo, deve contactá-lo pelo telefone e agendar uma reavaliação
individual que seja conveniente para ambos.
2. Reavaliação particular - dependendo do número de RAs definido para a reavaliação, das
limitações demográficas e/ou das necessidades individuais, pode sempre optar pela
realização de reavaliações particulares. Preencha a data, hora e localização da reavaliação.
3. Reavaliação das aulas no salão/estabelecimento - pode optar por reavaliar individualmente
um RA enquanto o mesmo leciona aulas num salão/estabelecimento. Esta é uma excelente
forma de avaliar o desempenho do RA num ambiente de aula genuíno. Se pretende
reavaliar individualmente um RA durante o decorrer de uma aula, escolha uma aula que
esteja já agendada com o RA. Preencha apenas o nome e a cidade do
salão/estabelecimento e o tipo de aula na secção denominada "localização".
4. Reavaliações por meio de vídeo- pode haver alturas em que circunstâncias, como a
demografia, impossibilitem o encontro entre um educador Redken e um RA para a
realização da reavaliação. Nestes raros casos, a solução pode prender-se com uma
reavaliação por meio de vídeo. Em vez de enviar a invitation (o convite), contacte o RA pelo
telefone a solicitar o envio de um vídeo onde deve constar a apresentação de um tópico da
sua escolha. Deve ainda enviar ao RA as "dicas" para a performing sheet.
Durante a apresentação da reavaliação por parte do RA, deverá preencher o "re-evaluation
form” (formulário de reavaliação), juntamente com o " audition evaluation form” (formulário
de avaliação da audição) ou o "specialist audition evaluation form” (formulário de avaliação
da audição para especialistas) (caso esteja a reavaliar especialistas).
