I have been a commited, hard working Portuguese -> English, English -> Portuguese translator for the past three years. I am passionate about my work and about having a perfect final product.
I take on work from any area, however, my expertise does lie in the area of education and linguistics as well as the fast translation of certification and diplomas.
During my time in the profession I have worked with Queensland Government Agencies, AUSAid, Television and Print media, Mining Companies and the Police, as well as numerous individuals and private companies.
Other professional activities
Currently I am in the process of finishing my PhD in the area of applied linguistics and I am also a qualified university teacher. I have been a Spanish and English University teacher since 2002, something I whole heartedly enjoy doing.
I am a member of NAATI and AUSIT, the translation and interpreting professional bodies in Australia and have enjoyed taking part in conferences and other personal development activites for both.
Outside of work
When I'm not working on translating or teaching I am an avid photographer and lover of soccer (or football!). I also enjoy cooking - and eating - and love indulging in lazy afternoons reading, which doesn't happen often enough!
