I have a degree in biology and a PhD from the University of Milan, Italy. During the PhD I did a research period in the US at NEOUCOM (Northeast Ohio Medical University) working in the biochemistry department on gene regulation of enzymes in the cholesterol metabolism pathway. Together with my husband (American), also with a research background in the biomedical field, I returned to Italy doing research in the oncology field at IFOM, Milan. Since 2005, with the birth of our first daughter, I have started my career as freelance translator in science and particularly in the biotech, biomedical, pharmacological sectors. My activity is focused on the translation of research articles, press news, web content and patents (60-80/year in the last 10 years), and my clients are publishing companies, research institutions, law firms, as well as private clients. |
