English to Italian: (Global Voice Online) Supreme Court steps in after sexual assault verdict leads to public outcry in India
Source text - English A judgement by the Bombay High Court of India on January 27, 2021, ruling that groping a minor, without skin-to-skin contact, could not be considered sexual assault was stayed by a Supreme Court judge who cited the judgement as disturbing.
Justice Pushpa Ganediwala of the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court in Mumbai modified a ruling given by the Sessions Court, in which the accused, a 39-year-old man, was found guilty of sexual assault and sentenced on January 19, 2021 to three years under the Section 8 of the Protection Of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. Section 8 of POCSO stipulates that, “Whoever, commits sexual assault, shall be punished with imprisonment of either punishment for the description for a term which shall not be less than three years but which may extend to five years, and shall also be liable to a fine.”
According to court records, the man was accused of taking the 12-year-old girl to his house in December 2016, when he allegedly gripped her breasts and tried to remove her clothes, for which he was sentenced by the Sessions Court. On appeal at the Bombay High Court, Justice Ganediwala found the accused not guilty because there was no skin-to-skin contact as the man did not remove the victim's clothes.

Citizenship-for-purchase programmes, meant to boost ailing tourism economies, are proving to be problematic for some Caribbean countries.
The COVID-19 pandemic has dealt the vulnerable, tourism-dependent economies of the Caribbean a heavy blow. According to some forecasts, it will take the region a long time to recover from the loss of visitors. Despite renewed efforts to attract tourists for the upcoming winter season, the numbers of new COVID cases and deaths on some islands continue to trend upwards and there is great uncertainty in the business sector.
Enter the so-called “golden passport”—known as Citizenship by Investment (CBI)—which offers wealthy visitors the opportunity to travel more freely to some 149 countries. At a time when visa and COVID-19 restrictions are becoming more onerous, a second citizenship seems an advisable option; insurance in uncertain times. According to one citizenship broker, business is booming: applications for second passports have increased by 42 percent from last year.
