After a successful career teaching German and French to graduate level, I gradually moved into full-time translation. As a native speaker, I am equally at home in US and British English. For many years, I translated political, commercial, and economic texts from the German- and French-language media for agencies of the US State Department. However, I have avoided too narrow a focus: For example, I have wide experience of patents, which require an open-minded approach to a diverse range of specialist fields.
