Source text - English Biology is the natural science that involves the study of life and living organisms, including their physical structure, chemical composition, function, development and evolution. Despite the broad scope and the complexity of the science, there are certain unifying concepts that consolidate it into a single, coherent field. Biology recognises the cell as the basic unit of life, genes as the basic unit of heredity, and evolution as the engine that propels the creation of new species. Living organisms are open systems that survive by transforming energy and decreasing their local entropy to maintain a stable and vital condition defined as homeostasis.

Experience
Years of experience: 13. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2018.
I am a native Italian speaker. I spent many years abroad working in an international academic English-based environment (Academia - 8 years in the US, 3 years in the UK, 2 years in Germany). I have experience in writing scientific manuscripts in English and Italian (12 publications in peer reviewed journals), and in teaching biology at college level (my courses are delivered in English). I am resourceful and organized with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English. I am particularly interested in using my language skills in both Italian and English for translating texts and/or manuscripts of scientific and/or medical source.
