La traducción de documentos académicos presenta un desafío para los traductores de todas partes del mundo debido a las marcadas diferencias que existen entre los sistemas educativos de los distintos países. A través de la presente investigación nos ocuparemos, en primer lugar, de sistematizar y comparar los sistemas educativos de la Argentina, el Reino Unido y los Estados Unidos en todos sus niveles, con especial énfasis en la educación superior, para proveerle así al traductor público información sólida que le servirá como una herramienta útil a hora de tomar decisiones en su traducción. En la segunda parte de nuestro trabajo, analizaremos algunos documentos pertenecientes a diferentes tipos textuales como certificados analíticos, solicitudes de estudios de posgrado, certificados de alumno regular, entre otros, con el fin de analizar términos problemáticos y proponer posibles soluciones que puedan orientar al traductor en su labor.
Translation - English ABSTRACT
The translation of academic documents is a challenge for translators all around the world due to the differences that exist among the education systems of the different countries. In order to provide translators with accurate information that may be useful in the decision-making process when translating, this research work firstly systematizes and compares the education systems of Argentine, the United Kingdom and the United States at all levels, focusing primarily on higher education. During the second part, this research analyzes some documents from different text types such as university transcripts, graduate admission applications and certificates of enrolment so as to analyze difficulties and suggest possible solutions that can be of help to translators.
