Bio
¡Hola!

My name is Raquel González and I am 23 years old. I was born in the Canary Islands, Tenerife, Spain and I live there now. I am a freelance translator specializing in literature, videogames, Android apps, software and websites.

I became interested in languages and translation when I was 15 years old. Before becoming a translator, I studied English Philology which gave me a better understanding of English and its culture. I also gained knowledge on linguistics and literature, two elements that I consider crucial in order to overcome any translation. It was in 2013 when I became a professional translator. I specialized in 2013 in audiovisual translation and I have been working as a subtitler of shorts and movies up until now (for free most of the times). In addition, I have never stopped studying and I am always looking for new courses or degrees. I lived in Ireland for a year in order to improve my English skills and also because I loved the country and the university where I studied.

As I said before, I am working as a freelance translator since 2013 and it has been a great experience. I have gained new professional skills and knowledge and I have also met new people. I consider myself lucky for some of the persons I have known were customers that now are friends.

I'm looking forward to start working with you.

Regards,

Raquel
