Sono sempre più convinto che sia necessario sottolineare con forza che I due termini: NON SONO DEI SINONIMI.
La differenza fondamentale sull’interpretazione dei due termini è: la conoscenza.
Tutto ciò che non conosciamo, diventa complesso.
Tutto ciò di cui conosciamo almeno parzialmente il percorso prima di iniziare diventa complicato.
La vita è qualcosa di complesso, avere dei figli, educarli.
Il business è solo complicato.
Molte volte in academy, specialmente nelle giornate dedicate al business development, o marketing delle nuove tecnologie di distribuzione, mi permetto di fare questo esempio: se ognuno dovesse essere costretto a scrivere un decalogo delle cose che renderebbero la vita del proprio figlio, un inferno, forse perché adulto e con un po’ di esperienza alle spalle, potrebbe scrivere delle concrete e oggettive regole.
Ma se allo stesso tempo dovessimo scrivere il decalogo che permetta al proprio figlio di vivere una vita felice sarebbe più complesso. Le variabili oggettive e soggettive aumenterebbero a dismisura.
Ecco perché dobbiamo costringere I nostri clienti/partner a rimanere degli studenti pronti ad accogliere nuove opportunità e a ragionare a lungo termine.
Promuovendo di continuo aggiornamenti di mercato e prodotti diversi per renderli partecipi della rivoluzione in cui siamo immersi.
La delivery online non è un’alternativa al proprio modello di business.
E’ un nuovo modello di business e come tale deve essere affrontato da parte dei partner; come se fosse una vera e propria startup, senza aver paura di affrontarlo perché non si conosce abbastanza.

Life is complex, having children and raising them. Business is just complicated.
When I attended the academy, especially when there were lectures on business development or marketing of new distribution technologies, I used to make an example. If everyone was forced to write a decalogue of the things that would make your own son's life a hell, perhaps because you are an adult and have some real "life experience" you could write concrete-objective rules.
But if at the same time you were to write a decalogue which enables your own son to live a happy life, it would be more complex. Objective and subjective variables would dramatically increase.
That's why we have to force our clients/partners to stay students to be ready to take on new opportunities and adopt long-term thinking. By promoting different products and continuous market updates in order to share the revolution that we are swamped in.
The online delivery is not an alternative to your business model.
It's a totally new business model and the partners must deal with it as if it is a real startup, without being afraid because they don't know enough about it.

Source text - Italian L’immunodeficienza combinata grave SCID è una malattia ereditaria che danneggia il sistema immunitario del corpo. La caratteristica principale della patologia è un difetto congenito all’interno dei linfociti T e B, questi sono i globuli bianchi presenti nel sistema immunitario del corpo che aiutano a combattere le infezioni causate da virus, funghi e batteri. Quando nascono, i bambini rimangono in gran parte protetti da malattie infettive, da difese immunitarie trasmesse dalla madre; in questo modo il loro sistema immunitario, ha tempo di sviluppare una barriera difensiva adeguata. Se un bambino eredita l’SCID , il suo corpo non è in grado di difendersi e rischia di contrarre malattie come la polmonite e la meningite. L’SCID definisce una serie di malattie tutte rare e tutte ereditate e derivanti da un gene difettoso. Il paziente più famoso affetto da SCID fu David Vetter nato nel 1971. Il fratello maggiore di David era morto pochi mesi dalla nascita della stessa malattia, così come molti altri bambini all’epoca. Al momento della nascita di David, l’unico rimedio possibile era proteggere il bambino collocandolo in un ambiente sterile, fino a quando avrebbe potuto sottoporsi a un trapianto di midollo osseo. Poiché i genitori di David, avevano già perso un bambino a causa dell’SCID, entro pochi minuti dalla nascita, David fu posto in una bolla di plastica sterile, costruita appositamente per lui; in teoria non doveva rimanervi a lungo, perché i medici speravano che sua sorella sarebbe risultata una donatrice di midollo osseo compatibile. Purtroppo così non fu e David visse in una camera sterile per il resto della sua vita, il che gli fece guadagnare il soprannome di “Bubble Boy”, il ragazzo della bolla. Con l’approssimarsi dell’adolescenza, si decise di sottoporre David a un trapianto di midollo osseo, utilizzando cellule staminali, provenienti da un donatore non compatibile. Nel frattempo, erano stati compiuti progressi in questo campo della medicina. Perciò i medici speravano che la trasfusione eseguita usando sua sorella come donatrice, anche se non perfettamente compatibile, avrebbe avuto successo. Purtroppo David si ammalò pochi mesi dopo l’operazione, a causa di un virus latente non rilevato, presente nelle cellule della donatrice. Patì di diarrea, emorragia interna, vomito e febbre, prima di morire di linfoma. Oggi il trattamento dell’SCID ha compiuto progressi significativi. Durante l’infanzia i pazienti posso essere trattati con antibiotici e i genitori sono invitati a tenerli lontani da gruppi numerosi di persone o da soggetti notoriamente malati. L’immunizzazione con virus vivi, viene evitata, in quanto anche la versione debole della malattia potrebbe mettere a rischio un bambino affetto da SCID. Tuttavia, la maggior parte dei pazienti colpiti da questa patologia, viene ora trattata con successo, ricorrendo al trapianto di cellule staminali del midollo osseo, che aiuta il sistema immunitario del trapiantato a rinforzarsi. Oltre ai donatori pienamente compatibili, ora possono essere utilizzati anche donatori solo parzialmente compatibili. E’ improbabile oggigiorno che a un genitore venga consigliato di crescere il proprio bambino in una bolla di plastica. In prospettiva la terapia genica si sta facendo strada nella cura dell’SCID; anche se è nelle prime fasi della ricerca. Si spera che questa forma di trattamento, che integra geni sani in sostituzione di quelli difettosi, possa diventare una cura per i bambini nati con l’SCID in futuro.
Translation - English SCID, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, is an hereditary disease which damages the immune defense system. The defining characteristic is usually a severe defect in both the T- & B-lymphocyte systems. These are white blood cells present in the immune system of the body, which protect from infections caused by virus and bacteria. Newborn are protected from infectious diseases, by the immune system transmitted from the mother; in this way their immune system has the time to develop an adequate immune system. If a child inherit the SCID disease, his body is not capable of defending itself, this usually results in the onset of one or more serious infections as pneumonia, meningitis or bloodstream infections. The SCID defines all the rare heritable disorders, caused by a nonfunctional gene. SCID became widely known, when the world learned of David Vetter, affected by SCID, born in 1971. David’s brother died few month after was born, of the same disease, as many children in those years. When David was born, the only way to protect him, was by putting him in a sterile environment until he receives the bone marrow transplant. Since David’s parents lost a child because of the SCID, after only few minutes from David’s birth, was placed in a plastic, germ-free bubble, built especially for him; in theory he shouldn’t have to stay long, because the doctors hoped that his sister was a compatible donor of bone marrow. Unfortunately it was not and David lived in the bubble for the rest of his life, and was named the “Bubble Boy”. In his years of adolescence, they decided to bone marrow transplant him, through stem cells, from an incompatible donor. In the meanwhile consistent developments in this field of medicine has been made. Therefore the doctors hoped that the transplant would have being successful, even if his sister was an incompatible donor. Unfortunately, David few months after the transplant, fall ill, because of a latent virus, not detected, present in the donor’s cells. He suffered from diarrhea, internal bleeding, vomit and fever, and died of lymphoma.
Nowadays the SCID therapy, have made significant improvements. In early childhood, the patients can be treated with antibiotics, and their parents are asked to keep them away from numerous group of people and from notoriously sick persons. The immunisation with live attenuated virus, is avoided, because even the weak version of the disease may be life threatening for a child affected by SCID. However the majority of the patients affected by this disease, is successfully treated through stam cell transplant in the bone marrow, which helps the immune system of the patient to reinforce. Now, in addition to the compatible donors, can be used also partially compatible donors. It is unlikely that nowadays is suggested to a parent with SCID affected child, to raise him in a plastic bubble.
In prospect the gene therapy is opening the way to treat SCID; even if it is in the first stages of the research. It is believed that this kind of treatment, which substitutes the defect gene with healthy genes, could be the future treatment for SCID infants.
